From 2013 to 2020, I had an extension appointment within University of Missouri Extension. My extension program, A Steak in Genomics™, focused on helping farmers and ranchers use new genomic technologies and animal breeding best practices to improve the profitably of their herds. I focused on:

• Creating beef cattle with a plan

• Using economic selection indexes

• Genomic-enhanced EPDs

• Marketing using genetic information

I also partnered with Dave Patterson and Jordan Thomas in the Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Program, in which I provide the program with recommendations regarding genetic requirements. The program launched a Show-Me-Plus designation for heifers with genomic predictions. The program also requires all natural service sires to have genomic-enhanced EPDs, to provide additional predictability to the program.
